Wisconsin
Date: 10/18/2015
Opponent: Purdue (24-7 Wisconsin)
Tailgating/Pregame: Wow. Lots of options for pre-game with beer gardens and tailgate lots all around. Here's the funny thing, we could not find where the students were tailgating. Seriously. The postgame is great as well, because you have the options of the before-mentioned beer gardens or any of the great restaurants and bars around Madison.
Crowd: Strangely quiet. Purdue never went to a silent count. I don't know if I've ever seen that with such a large crowd. The student section is incredible. Songs throughout, starting different waves, and of course the "jump around." It would certainly be fun to be there, but the remainder of the fans were entirely spectators rather than participants.
Stadium experience: The stadium is old, and the seats are really close together. Seriously, you have your knees in the person in back of the person front of you and the person behind you is also giving you a nice back massage with their knees. The hallways are also over-packed, so getting in and out is slow. But that's ok, because it is a nice looking stadium.
Overall: Madison is such a cool town, I'd like to come back. But I was really surprised at how silent the fans were, other than the student section. The pre- and post-game around the town is one of the best I've experienced, and that alone makes Wisconsin a great gameday experience.
