Matthew Troutman, Ph.D
I’m Matt Troutman, and I’m currently the Head of School at Thomas Jefferson School in St. Louis, MO. Prior to my role as Head of School, I was the Director of Teaching and Learning as well as a math and science teacher for grades 7 through 12 at TJ. I am passionate about learning about learning from research-based teaching practices in order to create the best environment for students.
Previously, I received a Ph.D. and M.S. in Physics from Clemson University. Most recently I received an M.Ed. from Teachers College at Columbia University, working with the Klingenstein Center for Independent School Leadership. My previous research included analyzing planet formation.
