Too many should wins...

After falling short on Thursday against Wake, the coach is gone. He was a good man, but I think just wasn't the coach to put Clemson over the top. This is the right move for the team. Now they can rally around an impressive-sounding, former WR coach Dabo Swinney. He's been doing all the right things in the first few days in his new title, but we'll see how that translates on Saturday.

This also brings up the opportunity to bring in a new coach next year. It's dangerous to say that if Dabo wins out, he gets to keep the job. I think you have to look elsewhere to see if there might be a better opportunity out there (e.g. Muschamp at Texas). Clemson is now an attractive job with the quality that will be here for a few years, the ACC being down, good fans, etc. Trying to get the next hot coach is a real possibility in this situation. I'm again hopeful.
