Fun with predictions
Just because I want to have this written somewhere to check later:
The ACC bowl games come down to two options, depending on the ACC championship game. I'll separate into two categories.
Explanations:
Peach bowl selects GT first if BC loses in championship game because they're in Atlanta.
Gator bowl has rumored to want FSU to matchup with Nebraska. A CU-Nebraska game would be fun, but in Florida, FSU looks more attractive to the selection committee.
Champs sports knows that BC probably shouldn't drop so far after losing the title game, so they would pick up the remnants again. However, they did go last year. This makes me seriously reconsider my choice there.
The rest of the bowls sort of fall into place out of necessity. First, NCState is out of an ACC tie-in bowl because they cannot be chosen over a 7-win team (by rule), so I'll skip them. With the next choice, the Car Care Bowl picks Miami or UNC, depending on if they think Miami can fill up the stands this year. The selection leaves Wake, UMD, and UNC/Miami to fend for the rest. Interestingly, when it comes to the Eagle Bowl vs Navy, UMD can't play in it because of exams, Wake can't play because of a contract with Navy not to have a rematch, leaving only UNC/Miami. UMD therefore has to go to Boise. The final bowl is filled by the non-picked UNC or Miami.
