Clemson on Saturday
I know this post will go up before anyone reads this, but...
Clemson should win on Saturday. I hate to jinx it. But I have one great reason why: I am not going to the game.
I'm 0-4 for my teams playing in Atlanta when I attend. This includes 0-3 for Clemson games, and 0-1 for Washington Capitals games. I only have pictures from 2 of them, but here are the stories:
Game 1: 2005 Clemson-GT. This was just an ugly, ugly game. Clemson only lost 2 games, both in overtime, including the game against Miami that broke the noise record at the time. Clemson ended up losing 10-9 in what might have been the most boring game I've ever been to.
Game 2: 2007 Clemson-GT. I guess Clemson plays ugly football in Bobby Dodd Stadium. The fans showed up - again the GT fans were disappointing - but the team didn't. I think this was the first week Jacoby Ford was injured, and he was missing in what seemed like a slow team. Clemson lost 13-3, but it was a bit closer than the score would suggest. Clemson dropped their first game of the season that ended in the heartbreaker against BC.

Game 3: 2008 Clemson-Auburn. Auburn changed up their offense for this game to be more of a spread/option looking thing. Clemson was missing linebackers. It seemed like Auburn was guaranteed 5-10 yards per play when they didn't make a mistake. If Auburn had been using this offense for a while, I think it would have been very bad. Fortunately, Clemson stayed in the game, with help from Spiller. I was next to an older woman, and before the play he broke an ~80 yard run, I told her, "C.J. is overdue for a long run." When he broke it, I think she gave me a hug. Clemson lost this one in overtime, 23-20.

Game 4: 2008 Washington-Atlanta. I don't remember the exact score, but the Caps should have stayed ahead in this one. Alex Ovechkin scored a beauty (what else is new), but soft goals were let in to take it to overtime. The caps were dominant the whole game but lost in the shootout.
Boy, this was somewhat depressing. But if Clemson wins on Saturday, I will have to seriously consider staying out of the city of Atlanta when my teams are playing.
Cheers...
