Wednesday - Montecasino

We stayed at the hotel until the mid-afternoon, then went out to a place called Montecasino. As the name implies, it's a casino. It's an extremely expansive place, with a ton of restaurants/bars. It seemed like a place where locals go on the weekends. We played some blackjack (poorly), had some extremely cheap drinks, and some food. To put in perspective how cheap the drinks were, Ashley thought she ordered a glass of wine, but they brought out the entire bottle. A mai tai cost around $5.

We ended up staying at one of the bars to watch the South Africa/Uruguay game with some locals. It was great, despite the result. Talking with the locals was fun, especially since they let us try to play the vuvuzela. Pulling out our inner band history, we both were good right away. I ended up starting a few chants with the local fans of Bafana Bafana.
